“Do Well, Be Well with Diabetes”
Thanks to the
combined efforts of a number of local
organizations and the Crossroads Health Coalition, we are pleased to be able to
offer a series of diabetes classes known as “Do Well, Be Well with
Diabetes”.This six-week series teaches
participants key aspects of diabetes self-management and prevention with
curriculum developed by Texas Cooperative Extension.“Do Well, Be Well with Diabetes” is available
to diabetics, caregivers of diabetics, and individuals interested in diabetes
education.Classes are offered in the
spring and fall and cover topics such as blood sugar management, preventing and
managing complications, exercise, and nutrition.

The mission of the Victoria City-County Health Department’s Diabetes Division is to develop a local diabetes program that will support and enhance current efforts in preventing and managing diabetes mellitus in the Victoria area through awareness, education, and prevention measures. Thanks to grant funding from the Department of State Health Services and assistance from Crossroads Health Coalition members, the Health Department now offers various diabetes-related programs to the local community
