ABOUT OUR PROGRAMS:

The Environmental Health Division serves Victoria, Calhoun, DeWitt and Jackson counties by permitting and inspecting more than 1,000 food establishments, investigating more than 800 general sanitation complaints, and permitting approximately 400 on-site sewage facilities each year. The Environmental Health Division is also responsible for investigating foodborne illness outbreaks, permitting and inspecting temporary food establishments in conjunction with special events, bacteriological testing on public and private drinking water systems, and mosquito control in Victoria County.
